The Discover our history route

Explore the local history with the Discover our history route. Travel the roads of Témiscamingue to Angliers to discover the T.E. Draper, the most important logging tug in operation on Lac des Quinze from 1929 to 1972. Come aboard and relive the history of log driving in the region. Then, head back to the Chantier Gédéon, a true reconstruction of a lumber camp from the 1930s and 40s. You will learn more about the life of the men who prepared for the log driving season through several buildings and a trail in the forest.

Enjoy the diversity of local products throughout the territory. Make a first stop at the Miellerie de la Grande Ourse to taste the honey, meads and spirits concocted on site or visit the distillery. Then, go to L’Amalgame Pub Urbain for a meal inspired by the land in a festive atmosphere. Then, visit the Boréalait farm. Taste a range of fresh, simple and high-quality products: fresh milk, cheeses, farm yogurt, all must-haves of the region. A stop at the Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte is also a must to discover their counter of fresh products whose reputation is well established!
